Redwood has a new ‘BBC School Report’ news team and already they have had a very busy 1st term.

By BBC School Reporters, Lynden and Tia.

News reports have been created for a number of exciting events. The first one was reporting on the national ballot day linked to the UK Youth Parliament. The ballot decided what Members of the UK Youth Parliament should debate and vote on to b

e their campaign for in 2018 and all pupils at Redwood were invited to vote on the issue that they felt was most important to them.

The next exciting event that the news team reported on was ‘Children in Need’.  Pupils of Redwood had designed a number of fantastic fundraising activities which contributed to a phenomenal £50,168,562 raised for BBC Children in Need.

Not long after this, our team were transported to Manchester’s Event City to report on the exciting sporting event (sponsored by Allianz) wh

ich saw our Young Sports Leaders leading a number of sporting activities with several primary school pupils. As well as reporting on the variety of sporting events, the news team also had the opportunity to interview Paralympian swimmer, Liz Johnson.

Our final report for this term was just two weeks ago when some of the team were lucky enough to interview players from Rochdale AFC (Donervon Daniels and James ‘Jimmy’ McNulty) after they paid a visit to our school.

All reports, images and interviews will soon be uploaded to our school website for you to see so keep your eyes peeled!
