After School Clubs

At Redwood we have a thriving after school club network. We currently have the choice of 17 different after school clubs a week which run on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. All our clubs are inclusive and are based around fun but they all allow for progression, to improve performance and some offer a pathway to community sessions, clubs and competitions (local, regional and national).

Our after school club programme was judged to be “phenomenal” by a recent OFSTED inspection.

Other News

Redwood entered a competition  with AVIVA Athletics and won an Elite Athlete to be a P.E. Teacher for the day. On Monday 5^th July Andrew Steele (400M) came to Redwood and delivered 3 athletics sessions to over 50 students. The day was a massive success and all students performed to a fantastic level. Andrew was great with the students and they got chance to meet a world class athlete.

Our six weeks of skiing lessons at the ChillFactore have just come to an end.  The project has involved 7 regular stand up skiers and a total of 12 different sit down skiers every Thursday evening 6-7pm and was part funded by Disability SnowSport. The project has been a fantastic success for both students and parents. The progress the stand up skiers have made has been phenomenal and the experiences that the sit down skiers have been magic. It has been a real eye opener for everyone involved, the students and their capabilities have blown everyone away. No one involved expected that the young people could have achieved so much. Three of the sit down skiers have since been in touch with Disability SnowSport to book further family sessions and two have been bought their own helmets. There will be the opportunity for other students to access six weeks of skiing after Christmas, check out the video on our website to see what we got up to and if you would like your child to take part in January please contact us asap to secure a place.
