Our House System

Our 4 houses are names of trees after our school ‘Redwood’, which are:
• Ash
• Birch
• Elm
• Oak

Each house comprises of 1 house leader and 2 house captains.
Students are awarded house points in the following 5 areas:
• Redwood Values
• British values
• Academic
• Sport
• Attendance

We recognise and celebrate students’ achievement through awarding house points. Each time a student is awarded a house point, they are given a token of the colour of their house, which is then dropped into the house point counter located in the front of the house display board, which in turn is then logged into our system.

Throughout each term there are various activities and competitions students can join in to earn more points for their house. We celebrate our achievements on the last Friday of each half term, whereby students and staff attend their own house assembly. Certificates and awards are presented by the house leaders and the winning trophy to the house with the overall winning house points.

House Groups News

Our recent whole school competition was ‘Sport Relief’, whereby we had lots of activities for students to join in. All students were given a t-shirt of the colour of their house to wear. All 4 houses came together at the end of the day in Gracie Fields to celebrate the day with the presentation of individual awards. Well done to Ash for winning Sports Relief. Well done to Oak for overall winners of the spring term.
