At Redwood, we also have a variety of extra support for identified students

Subject Specific Interventions

Data is tracked throughout the year by the Curriculum Leaders to ensure that sufficient academic progress is being made in Mathematics and English. If either Curriculum Leader feels that extra intervention is required then 2 highly trained members of the Support Team, specialists in Maths and English, are assigned to either individuals, groups or classes. The support staff will then liaise with the Curriculum Leader and the Class Teacher to determine the best approach to support the students. Sometimes removal from the lesson is required to complete one to one activities or to work with a small group of 2 or 3 students struggling in specific topics. Occasionally the member of staff is assigned to a class to offer additional in lesson support on, particularly challenging topics.
