The Children's University is a national initiative that collaborates with schools to foster a love of learning. At Redwood School, our mission is to broaden and enrich our learners experiences through engaging and innovative learning activities. We offer opportunities that extend beyond the traditional classroom setting, both during and outside of the usual school day. This participation leads to an award that celebrates students' new adventures and experiences.

Examples of where Children's University is seen at Redwood:
Edgar Wood Hub students had an interesting trip to Quarry Bank Mill, where they delved into the lives of Victorian children. The day was filled with fun activities, including a tour of the mill and interactive sessions that brought history to life. After exploring the mill, including the loudest machines, the students enjoyed a break with hot chocolate and cream, the perfect treat on a chilly day. The experience follows our English work on A Christmas Carol, adding a magical touch to our end of term adventures.
Edgar Wood Hub students have had a large focus on learning outside of the classroom. The year long project ended with a graduation ceremony to celebrate at Rochdale Town Hall. Well done everyone!
