Deputy Head Post: 

The children, staff and governors wish to appoint an enthusiastic and innovative Interim Deputy Headteacher to join Redwood School for a fixed term to cover maternity leave from April 2022. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team of professionals working with students with a wide range of needs including profound and multiple learning difficulties and autism.

 

Redwood Secondary School is a successful generic secondary special school for pupils aged 11-19 based on a co-located site with a mainstream secondary school. Our latest Ofsted inspection in December 2016 judged the school to be ‘good with outstanding features’. We are looking for a colleague who will demonstrate a high level of commitment to our very special young people, in the future developments

 

We are seeking to recruit to the Leadership team a person who will:

-Have extensive experience and skill and be passionate in ensuring all our young people achieve to their personal best and reach their full potential in preparation for adulthood
- Be able to demonstrate outstanding classroom practice and be able to lead outstanding teaching and learning in a variety of  settings
- Have excellent interpersonal, organisational, leadership and management skills
- Be able to demonstrate how their work has had a significant impact on the whole school as part of a senior leadership team
- Have a strong commitment to innovative curriculum development, pupil learning and staff development
- Have excellent leadership skills and be able to hold people to account
- Have the ability to relate to and communicate effectively with parents, colleagues and other key agencies

If you are a senior leader in either primary or secondary setting, with a successful track record of sustained improvement and a determination to maximise the opportunities available, then this role offers an excellent opportunity to challenge yourself in a new environment.

 

Highly motivated and driven, applicants should have the creativity and vision to inspire and support change but also the focus to ensure successful outcomes are reached. You will need a ‘can-do’ attitude that can inspire and engage learners, staff and our wider educational community. PERMANENT TEACHING ASSISTANT LEVEL 4+

Grade 7

SCP 25-29

Annual Salary £25,253 - £28,099

37 Hours - Term Time Only

(Mon-Thurs 8.30am-4.30pm, Fri 8.30pm-4pm)

 

The successful candidate will be willing to work across all cohorts of the school. This role includes being a lead tutor with the support of middle leaders and will be a 12 or 20 lesson lead role.
 

We would like to hear from you if you are someone who has the capacity to develop their skills quickly and who can demonstrate a high level of commitment to working with a range of special educational needs.

 

We are seeking to recruit a TA4+ who will demonstrate:

  • High levels of dedication, motivation and resilience

  • Commitment to school improvement and pupil progress

  • A flexible approach to working with others whilst forming excellent learning relationships with students

  • Willingness to teach at least 12 lessons per week.

Grade 3, SCP 5-6, Actual Salary £14,418-£14,706

 

You will be required to work at either our Rochdale Hudsons Walk site or our Redwood Education and Enterprise Centre (REEC), Kenyon Lane Middleton site.

We would like to hear from you if you are someone who has the capacity to develop their skills quickly and who can demonstrate a high level of commitment to our very special young people. Redwood aims to provide the highest quality of teaching and learning to our youngsters and requires all our staff to work together as a part of a coherent team.

We are seeking to recruit a person who will:

  • Act as a responsible adult and assist with the supervision, personal care, welfare and keeping safe of individuals and / or groups of children and their environment under the direction / instruction of teaching and / or senior staff

  • Assist with resources and basic classroom management techniques to support their learning

  • To be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young children and young people with Special Educational Needs.
