Redwood Work Programmes
Redwood Real Work Programme
The Redwood Real Work Programme provides a structured pathway into paid employment for learners with SEND, combining real job placements with personalised coaching and education. Based in professional workplace settings such as Rochdale Infirmary, Rochdale Football Club and Wincanton, the programme equips learners with the practical, social and employability skills needed to succeed. Learners work four days a week in matched roles, supported by expert Job Coaches, while also completing a tailored education programme and Preparation for Adulthood activities to build independence and confidence. With over 60% of participants securing paid employment—and 66% last year—the programme has a strong track record of helping learners transition successfully into adulthood and the workplace.
Pre-Work Programme
The Pre-Work Programme builds the foundation for learners preparing to progress into supported internships, developing the confidence, independence and core employability skills needed for future success. Learners attend weekly supported placements across a range of industries, gaining hands-on experience and insight into workplace expectations, while working towards personalised goals and vocational development. Alongside this, they complete BTEC units, develop independent travel skills and take part in structured preparation sessions. With regular assessment and expert support, the programme equips learners with the skills, knowledge and confidence to transition successfully into the full internship pathway and move closer to paid employment.
Internal Work Programme
The Internal Work Programme supports learners who are not yet ready for external placements, helping them develop key employability skills within the structured and supportive environment of Redwood. Through a range of practical, campus-based roles such as catering, gardening and administration, learners build confidence, communication, teamwork and an understanding of workplace expectations. With tailored support and a focus on independence and personal growth, the programme provides a meaningful pathway towards future opportunities, including volunteering, further work-related learning or college-based life skills courses.
