Community Engagement
Redwood School is proud to be an active and valued part of the local community. We work closely with families, local organisations and services to create meaningful opportunities that enrich learning and support our pupils beyond the classroom. Through collaboration, shared experiences and open communication, we foster a strong sense of belonging where every voice is valued and every connection makes a difference.

Key Strengths of Community Engagement at Redwood School:
Meaningful Community Connections
We encourage learners to engage locally and globally to build empathy and responsibility through service and social projects.
Partnerships with Local Organisations
We build connections with businesses and cultural institutions to enrich learner experiences and perspectives.
Skill Development through Engagement
Community activities help develop collaboration, leadership, and problem-solving skills essential for learner growth.
Promoting Active Citizenship
Engagement fosters social responsibility and prepares learners for lifelong contributions to society and positive change.
Examples of where Community Engagement is seen at Redwood:
Matthew Moss Hub learners, have been on my LOTC experiences out in the community. Learning independence and confidence with everyday tasks.

INB2 learners have been to the Trafford Centre recently, exploring shops and paying for items they wanted to purchase. Learners represented the school fantastically, and showed great independence and respect.

Edgar Wood Hub learners have been taking part in a Teens and Toddlers project with the Edgar Wood community. Learners are doing a fantastic job supporting young children through play, care, and communication. It’s a great opportunity to experience a real workplace while building confidence, teamwork, and communication skills, all while making a positive difference. Thank you to Burnside Nursery and Power2!
