At Redwood School, mental health and wellbeing are central to personal development. Learners are supported through a nurturing environment, targeted interventions, and strong pastoral care.

Staff voice
Actively listened to through surveys, a Wellbeing Steering Group, and confidential feedback channels, with leadership responding transparently through “You said / We did” actions and strong positive feedback in the latest staff survey
Coaching and reflective practice
Strengthen staff resilience, with all SLT members trained in coaching approaches that build emotional literacy and professional confidence.
Learner Wellbeing
Exceptionally positive, with 93% of learners feeling OK or happy in school and 94% feeling OK or happy about their future, reflecting a safe and optimistic environment.

Reduced through streamlined administration, fewer unnecessary meetings, and additional support staff, improving staff capacity and job satisfaction.
Early identification systems
Ensure concerns are addressed quickly through trained staff, weekly intervention meetings, and clear safeguarding pathways

Flexible working practices
The option for staff to complete PPA at home, promote work–life balance and reflect a culture of trust and professionalism.

Monitored through SDQs, intervention data, external reports, YouHQ mood tracking, and strong learner voice structures such as the School Council and Link Governor.
